Volvo Car Corp. maintained sales growth in China last month, with volume rising 3.6 percent to 11,958.

The growth was driven by the locally assembled XC60 compact crossover and the S90 full-size sedan, Volvo said, without disclosing sales of individual models.

In addition to the XC60 and S90, Volvo produces and markets the elongated S60 compact sedan in China.

To shore up deliveries, the Swedish carmaker plans to launch three more locally produced products: the XC40 compact crossover and the V60 compact sedan under the Volvo brand, and the 1 hybrid coupe under its Polestar high-performance electrified vehicle brand.

The locally built, redesigned S60L will also go on sale this year.

Volvo is the second luxury brand to post a sales increase in January.

Audi, which remained China¡¯s largest luxury marque in 2018, delivered 63,888 vehicles last month, an increase of 5.3 percent over January 2018, according to FAW-Volkswagen Automotive Co., a partnership between China FAW Group Corp. and Volkswagen Group.
