Marc Comeau Appointed Vice President of Vehicle Sales, Service and Marketing for GM China and SAIC-GM

January 28, 2016

SHANGHAI - Marc Comeau has been appointed vice president of Vehicle Sales, Service and Marketing for GM China and SAIC-GM, effective February 1, 2016. Comeau will replace John Stadwick, who will repatriate to the U.S.

Comeau will report to GM Executive Vice President and President of GM China Matt Tsien in his GM China role and SAIC-GM Executive Vice President Julian Blissett in his SAIC-GM role. He will be based at the Shanghai headquarters of SAIC-GM, GM's manufacturing and sales joint venture with SAIC.

"Marc brings to GM China and our joint venture a wealth of experience in automotive sales and marketing in both Asia and North America," said Tsien. "His expertise will help the joint venture strengthen its strategic marketing capabilities and further improve customer experience."

Comeau joined GM Canada in 1983 and has held various sales and marketing positions throughout his GM career, including senior roles in multiple GM regions. He has been GM Korea vice president, responsible for Vehicle Sales, Service and Marketing, since 2013.

General Motors traces its roots back to 1908. GM has 11 joint ventures, two wholly owned foreign enterprises and more than 58,000 employees in China. GM and its joint ventures offer the broadest lineup of vehicles and brands among automakers in China. Passenger cars and commercial vehicles are sold under the Baojun, Buick, Cadillac, Chevrolet, Jiefang and Wuling brands. In 2015, GM sold more than 3.6 million vehicles in China.
