Audi launched sales of the new-generation Q3 at the Shanghai auto show last month.

Audi sales slump; Mercedes-Benz deliveries edge up
Automotive News China | 2019/5/14

Sales at Audi, the largest luxury car brand in China last year, turned south in April after mild gains in the first three months.

The Volkswagen Group luxury brand delivered 46,364 vehicles last month, a drop of nearly 12 percent from April 2018.

Audi blamed the double-digit decline on changeovers of two volume models -- the elongated A6 sedan and Q3 crossover.

By contrast, Mercedes-Benz succeeded in maintaining sales growth last month with deliveries rising 0.8 percent to 57,707.

In the first four months, Audi sales slid 0.5 percent to 205,698 while Mercedes-Benz deliveries rose 2.2 percent to 232,050.

BMW hasnt released China sales results for April.
