Peugeot, Roewe inventories top 3-month supply in March
Automotive News China | 2019/4/23

Stockpiles at Peugeot and SAIC Motor Corp.s Roewe dealerships topped 93 days in March even as overall inventory pressure at dealerships eased somewhat last month.

Dealerships under Changan Ford, Ford Motor Co.s passenger vehicle joint venture, had the third-highest stockpiles -- an 87-day supply on average -- according to the China Automobile Dealers Association.

Dealerships in general reported lower March inventories, given that there were more working days last month than in February.

Last month, stores handling luxury brands and imported foreign brands saw their backlog drop to a 45-day supply, from 56 days in February.

Stockpiles at dealerships marketing domestically produced foreign mass-market brands declined to 53 days from 67 days in the previous month.

The backlog at dealerships distributing domestic Chinese brands also edged down to 63 days from 65 days in February.

As a result, stockpiles at dealerships across China fell to a 54-day supply from 63 days a month earlier.

Despite the decline, inventory levels remain well above the normal range of 24 to 36 days.
