Honda, Nissan sales rebound in March
Automotive News China | 2019/4/5

Honda Motor Co. and Nissan Motor Co. posted higher China sales in March after weaker deliveries the previous month.

Honda¡¯s China deliveries jumped 26 percent year on year to 122,744 in March after sliding 1.5 percent the previous month.

The Civic sedan led the rebound in Honda volume with sales soaring 155 percent to 21,078 last month.

The Accord, Crider and Fit cars and CR-V and XR-V crossovers each generated sales of more than 10,000, Honda¡¯s China office said.

Two hybrid vehicles -- variants of the Accord and CR-V -- also helped drive  growth last month. CR-V Hybrid sales nearly tripled to 2,115 while Accord Hybrid deliveries surged 144 percent to 2,128.

Nissan¡¯s China deliveries rose 8.2 percent to 133,069 in March after dipping 1.8 percent in February.

The Sylphy compact car was Nissan¡¯s top-selling model last month, with sales increasing 25 percent to 38,265.

In the first quarter, Honda¡¯s China sales advanced 11 percent to 335,134 while Nissan deliveries gained 2.3 percent to 343,748.

Another major Japanese carmaker, Toyota Motor Corp. hasn¡¯t disclosed China sales for March.
