Dealership stockpiles spike; Changan Ford stores carry 95-day supply
Automotive News China | 2019/3/19

Inventories at dealerships across China surged to a 63-day supply in February from 42 days a month earlier, as new-car purchases slowed during the weeklong Chinese New Year holiday.

The backlog at dealerships marketing domestically built foreign mass-market brands jumped to 67 days from 41 days in January.

Stores under Changan Ford, Ford Motor Co.s passenger vehicle joint venture, reported the highest inventories -- an average 95-day supply -- in February, according to the China Automobile Dealers Association.

Stockpiles at dealerships under domestic Chinese brands also climbed to 65 days from 50 days in the previous month.

Stores distributing luxury brands and imported foreign brands saw their backlog rise to a 56-day supply, from 36 days in January.

The Chinese New Year ran from February 4 through February 10.
