Audi taps Infiniti's China chief to lead local sales

Audi named Lu Yi, former China head of Infiniti, executive vice president of its Chinese operations, effective Thursday.

Lu will oversee sales and marketing for Audi in China and report directly to Audi¡¯s China president, Thomas Owsianski, the German luxury brand said.

Lu is a sales veteran with more than 20 years of experience in China¡¯s auto industry. 

He was previously Infiniti¡¯s managing director for China as well as president of Dongfeng Infiniti, a subsidiary of Nissan Motor Co.¡¯s joint venture with Dongfeng Motor Group, with responsibility for Infiniti¡¯s production and sales in China.

He also was president of Jaguar Land Rover¡¯s China sales unit from 2014 to 2015 and vice president of BMW¡¯s imported vehicle sales company in China from 2010 to 2012.
