Geely maintains double-digit sales growth in September
Automotive News China | 2018/10/9

Geely Automobile Holdings¡¯ China sales lost some steam in September but still advanced by double digits after rising 30 percent in the first eight months of the year.

Geely said it delivered 124,429 vehicles in China last month, a gain of 14 percent over September 2017.

The company¡¯s mass-market brand Geely generated sales of 109,554. The premium brand Lynk & CO, unveiled last year, contributed deliveries of 14,875.

Through September, Geely¡¯s sales have surged 37 percent to 1,136,858.

The Hong Kong-listed company aims to boost annual sales by 27 percent to 1.58 million in 2019.

Geely is based in the east China city of Hangzhou. Its parent Zhejiang Geely Holding Group Co. also owns Volvo Car Corp.

The private Chinese carmaker plans to build the plug-in hybrid version of its first Lynk & Co model, the 01 compact crossover, at Volvo¡¯s factory in Ghent, Belgium, and distribute the vehicle in Europe starting next year.
