Audi to launch Q2L next month
Automotive News China | 2018/9/25

Audi will launch sales of a stretched variant of the Q2 compact crossover on Oct. 13 as the German luxury brand continues to expand its product lineup.

The Q2L is built in China and has a starting price of 226,800 yuan ($33,060), according to autohome, a Beijing auto website.

The front-wheel-drive vehicle is 4,229 mm long, 1,785 mm wide and 1,548 mm tall, with a wheelbase of 2,628 mm.

It is powered by a 1.4-liter turbocharged gasoline engine paired to a seven-speed dual clutch transmission.

It will be built at FAW-Volkswagen¡¯s plant in Foshan in south China¡¯s Guangdong province. FAW-VW is VW Group¡¯s joint venture with China FAW Group Corp.

The Q2L is the fifth product and the third crossover Audi assembles in China, following the A3, A4 and A6 sedans and the Q3 and Q5 crossovers.

Audi remained the top-selling luxury car brand in China for the second consecutive month with August volume rising 6 percent from a year earlier to 57,453.

But in the first eight months, Mercedes-Benz still outsold Audi in China: Mercedes-Benz deliveries advanced 14 percent to 445,075 while Audi sales jumped 16 percent to 417,234.
