Lynk & CO launches sales of first plug-in hybrid
Automotive News China | 2018/7/31

Geely Automobile Holdings launched sales of the first plug-in hybrid vehicle under the premium Lynk & CO brand on Friday in Beijing.

The plug-in hybrid version of the Lynk & CO 01 compact crossover has a starting price of 232,800 yuan ($34,235). The price is lowered to 199,800 yuan after government subsidies.

The plug-in hybrid 01 is produced at Lynk & COs plant in Zhangjiakou in north Chinas Hebei province. The factory also builds the standard 01 as well as the 02, a sporty compact crossover.

The plug-in hybrid 01 is set to be assembled at Volvo Car Corp.s plant in Ghent of Belgium in 2019 and go on sale in Europe later the year.

Lynk & CO, unveiled in 2016, is targeting young customers. In 2017, Volvo was granted a 30 percent stake in Lynk & CO.

The Lynk & CO 01 and 02 share a compact modular architecture platform with the Volvo XC40.  Zhejiang Geely Holdings Group Co., Geelys parent, acquired Volvo from Ford Motor Co. in 2010.

The 01 went on sale in December 2017 and China deliveries total 52,264 through June. The 02 was launched in late June.
