Automotive News China | 2018/4/13

Sales of Volkswagen brand and Audi vehicles increased last month in China. VW brandí»s deliveries rose 6 percent year on year to 269,500 vehicles on demand for the Teramont crossover. Audií»s volume surged 31 percent from a year earlier to 54,031 vehicles as the luxury brand continued to recover from a dispute with dealers that hammered its sales.

For VW brand in March, demand was also strong for the Jetta, Lavida and Santana sedans, VW Group said without divulging sales of individual VW brand models. China is the brandí»s biggest market.

For the first quarter, VW brand delivered 755,700 vehicles in China, an 8.6 percent increase from the same period last year.

For Audi last month, the A4 sedan was the growth engine, with sales soaring 87 percent from a year earlier to 13,800. Audi ended the dispute with its dealers in May when it dropped a plan to open a second distribution network.

For the first three months, Audií»s China sales reached 154,270 vehicles, a jump of 42 percent from the same period last year.

VW Group has yet to disclose sales of its other brands in China.
