Audi Feb. deliveries rise on strength of A4 sedan, Q3 crossover
Automotive News China | 2018/3/9

Audi's China sales rose 23 percent year on year to 39,228 last month even though February had fewer selling days than a year earlier because of the Lunar New Year.

Audi deliveries were driven by higher demand for the elongated A4 compact sedan and the Q3 compact crossover.

A4L deliveries spiked 68 percent year on year to 9,333 while Q3 sales surged 35 percent to 3,909, said FAW-Volkswagen Automobile Co., the Volkswagen Groupí»s joint venture responsible for Audi production and sales in China.

Last month, A3 hatchback sales advanced 14 percent to 4,918 while deliveries of the Q5 midsize crossover rose 9.7 percent to 8,437.

Sales of the stretched Audi A6 midsize sedan increased 3.3 percent to 9,741.

The five Audi models are produced at FAW-VW and accounted for nearly 93 percent of the luxury brandí»s China sales last month.

FAW-VW didní»t disclose sales of individual imported Audi models.

For the first two months, Audií»s China deliveries reached 99,916, a surge of 48 percent from the same period last year.

Two other leading German luxury brands, Mercedes-Benz and BMW, have not released China sales for February.
