Geely deliveries extend surge behind crossover demand
Automotive News China | 2018/2/9

Geely Automobile's sales rose 51 percent from a year earlier to 155,089 vehicles in January as demand for compact crossovers remained strong.

Deliveries of three Geely-brand compact crossovers -- the Boyue, Emgrand GS and the crossover version of the Vision -- totaled 60,472 last month.

Sales of the 01 compact crossover, the first product under Geely¡¯s newly created premium Lynk & CO brand, reached 6,173, after it was launched domestically in December.

The four crossovers accounted for 43 percent of Geely¡¯s sales tally in January.

Last month, the company also delivered 26,122 Vision compact sedans and 15,163 Emgrand GL compact sedans.

Geely didn¡¯t disclose January sales of other models marketed in China.

Geely is based in the east China city of Hangzhou and listed in Hong Kong. Its parent, Zhejiang Geely Holding Group, announced in December it would buy an 8.2 percent stake in Swedish heavy-duty truckmaker AB Volvo.
