Mazda deliveries rise behind demand for fuel-efficient cars
Automotive News China | 2017/12/15

Mazda Motor Corp.'s China sales increased 11 percent to 33,546 vehicles in November on strong demand for vehicles equipped with Skyactiv direct-injection engines.

The Japanese automaker currently builds four models in China that are fitted with Skyactiv powertrains: the Mazda6 Atenza, the Axela, the CX-4 and the CX-5.

Earlier this year, Mazda also launched sales of two imported models equipped with the powertrains: the CX-3 subcompact crossover and the MX-5 RF roadster.

Mazda did not disclose sales results for individual models.

In the first 11 months, Mazda delivered 276,388 vehicles in China, a gain of 11 percent from the same period last year.

The Japanese automaker has joint ventures in China with FAW Group Corp. and Chongqing Changan Automobile Co.

It is the fourth-largest Japanese carmaker in China behind Honda Motor Co., Nissan Motor Co. and Toyota Motor Corp.
