Audi, Mercedes rack up Nov. sales gains
Automotive News China | 2017/12/12

Audi AG said its deliveries rose 6.5 percent year on year in November to 56,208 -- enough to re-establish itself as China's No. 1 luxury brand.

Audi, in a statement, noted that the A4 sedan accounted for the largest share of the company's November sales growth.

Mercedes-Benz sales in China increased 22 percent to 50,813 units last month. BMW has not released China sales for the month.

Audi, the traditional top-selling premium brand in China, ran in to trouble last year after it announced plans to open a second sales channel. Sales plunged after angry dealers refused to order new vehicles.

Sales rebounded in May after Audi canceled those plans but the German luxury brand is still fighting to regain its status as the top-selling luxury brand for the entire year.

In the first 11 months of the year, Audi deliveries declined 2.1 percent to 528,706 while Mercedes sales jumped 27 percent to 539,728 units.
