Geely extends sales surge behind strong crossover volume
Automotive News China | 2017/11/10

Geely Automobile Holdings is poised to achieve its annual sales target of 1.1 million vehicles after October deliveries surged 30 percent to 125,118.

Four models launched last year -- the Boyue, the Emgrand GS and Vision crossovers and the Emgrand GL compact sedan -- continue to drive the company¡¯s growth.

Deliveries of the four models totaled 70,928 vehicles last month, accounting for 57 percent of the company¡¯s October volume.

In the first ten months, Geely sales jumped 72 percent from a year earlier to 952,226 behind demand for the four new models.

Geely hopes to build on recent sales success by extending its product lineup into upscale segments.

The company¡¯s new premium brand, Lynk & Co., will introduce the 01 compact crossover in China this year. Geely will roll out the model in Europe and the United States in 2019.

Geely is based in the east China city of Hangzhou and is listed in Hong Kong. In 2010, the company purchased Volvo Car Corp. from Ford Motor Co.
