Audi deliveries climb on higher Q7, A5 volumes
Automotive News China | 2017/10/13

INGOLSTADT, Germany -- Audi AG says deliveries in China rose 7.2 percent year on year in September to 58,445 vehicles, as the brand continued to recover from a damaging dealer boycott.

The September tally, helped by ongoing strong demand for the A6L sedan, is the brand's highest monthly performance this year.

Sales of the Q7 crossover rose 42 percent, while deliveries of the A5 jumped 55 percent, according to the company. Audi provided no further model-by-model sales results.

For the first nine months, Audi sales declined 4.9 percent to 440,233 vehicles. Late last year, dealers stopped ordering Audi models after the brand announced plans to launch a second distribution channel in China.

In May, dealers ended their boycott after the automaker put those plans on hold.

However, Audi is struggling to regain its traditional status as Chinas top seller of luxury vehicles. This year through September, Mercedes-Benz deliveries in China have risen 30 percent to 442,899 vehicles, edging Audi. BMW has not yet announced September sales.
