GM August sales climb 12% on Cadillac, Baojun and Chevy volumes
Automotive News China | 2017/9/8

SHANGHAI -- General Motors' deliveries in China increased 12 percent year on year to 328,425 vehicles last month, thanks to strong performances by Cadillac, Baojun and Chevrolet.

In August, Cadillac sales surged 51 percent from a year earlier to 15,014 vehicles on demand for the XT5 crossover, long-wheelbase ATS sedan and CT6 sedan.

Baojun deliveries soared 62 percent to 82,658 vehicles, led by the Baojun 510 and 310 crossovers.

Chevrolet sales rose 21 percent to 46,705 vehicles as demand for the Malibu sedan remained strong.

Buick deliveries also rose 9.6 percent to 103,277 vehicles.

But sales of Wuling, China¡¯s largest microvan brand, slumped 19 percent to 80,771 vehicles, as consumers continued to abandon low-priced microvans for bigger vehicles.

Through August, GM China¡¯s sales of 2.38 million vehicles were virtually unchanged from a year earlier.
