Hyundai taps VW's former China design director

Hyundai Motor Co. hired Simon Loasby, Volkswagen Group¡¯s former China design director, as China design chief this month.
The move is intended to strengthen car design capabilities in China, the Korean automaker said.
Loasby, 49, has 25 years of experience as a car designer, including a decade in China.
During his 10 years as the China design director for the VW Group, he was pivotal in crafting concept and production models for the Volkswagen and Skoda brands, including the Jetta, Lavida and Lamando.
Before joining VW, Loasby worked for Rolls-Royce and Bentley Motor Cars, where he played an important role in the design of cars including the Rolls-Royce Silver Seraph, Bentley Arnage and Bentley Continental GT, according to Hyundai.
