Mazda's China sales jump 28% in May
Automotive News China | 2017/6/13

Mazda Motor Corp. said its China deliveries surged 28 percent from a year earlier to 25,093 vehicles, thanks to strong demand for the upgraded Mazda3 Axela.

The redesigned Axela went on sale in February. The compact sedan is equipped with Mazda's fuel-efficient Skyactiv direct-injection gasoline engine.

It was the fourth consecutive month the Japanese brand recorded double-digit sales growth in China.

Through May, Mazdas China sales rose 15 percent year on year to 112,367 vehicles.

In the second half of this year, the Japanese automaker introduce the CX-3 subcompact crossover to the China market.

Mazda is the fourth-largest Japanese carmaker in China, following Honda Motor Co., Nissan Motor Co. and Toyota Motor Corp.
