WUHU -- German supplier Continental AG opened a second factory in Wuhu to produce instrumentation and componentry that provides data to the driver -- or what is commonly called the human-machine interface.
The plant cost 33 million euros (251 million yuan) to build and will be fully operational in the first quarter of 2015. By the end of next year, it will employ 1,500 workers.
In addition to the production lines, the 120,000-square-meter plant will house an r&d laboratory for 215 engineers.
The plant will be located 10 kilometers away from Continental's first factory in Wuhu, which produces instrument clusters, fuel pumps and actuators.
